Seascape Study

A fun study was planned mainly to perfect the technique in each medium better by accidentally stumbling on to a new stroke each attempt. It definitely was quite a learning. I never thought that the same seascape could be done in different ways with totally different hatching techniques. Each day it got better. Nah! I did not consciously do anything to make it better. I guess the technique eveolved on its own! :)

DAY 1 :

Clueless. I did not know where to start and where to end. How to compose.. lot of mistakes... but the take home message, not only this time, was I discover what not to do or what other approach I could have applied :) It was a super windy day. Whatever I was attempting the wind was blowing the sand strongly towards me!

I know, this one looks bad but I immediately remember what I should not have done. I think such things needs to be preserved and looked at once in a while.

DAY 2 :

It got a little more adventurous. I wanted to try watercolor. The outcome was pathetic! Again, I found a lot of tips from my mistakes. There was a major drawback that I was working on a waterpen. This doesnot give me the flexibility of washes and strokes of different thickness. But still I feel that I should definitely work on this more! Even with this limitation I want to discover what I could do and how I can revise the method to overcome it.

YEAH! Pathetic :(

DAY 3 :

This day was better interms of composition and better strokes. I experimented a couple of new ones and did not streotypically use the old ones. It was a lovely day too. I still remember enjoying every moment.

The difference can definitely be seen :)

DAY 4 :

This was definitely a better evolved attempt interms of every aspect. Of course, it is not the best. My next attempt would be different too. This alone was done in El Matador beach while the others were done in Santa Monica beach. The volleyball session in El Matador beach is very much memorable. It was so much fun! It was double fun as I did a sketch too in 30 mins.

The rocky beach was such an inspiration :)

Dr.Dr.Didi's Birthday

Throwing a nice surprise party is always fun!

BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!! A burst right on my hand by the Mischievous two with a knife!! I am not going to forgive this conspiracy!!! hmmm! :D

Nice party... But the conspiracy continued as 3 more were bursted though I tried to protect them! :(

Milano ...Oops Mila NO Shoes

Impromptu decision to shop as Puduma had store credit. It was a great suspense and surprise as to which store she had a huge $60 credit for, from where she bought her hi King shoes. Hallooooooo! Does it ring a bell as to which store it is? Our guess was that it would be some REI or Nike or Adi Das (or Antya Das)… But!!! our guess was totally shattered! To our biggest surprise, it was the smallest store ever! There were totally 5 to choose from for running shoes to sneakers!
I mean… How? Puduma how? In the first place, no one could solve the mystery of why she had to buy hiking shoes there.

We left her in the store for 1 1/2 hours initially and in the meantime manu, me and aditi were shopping and even after 1 hour she seemed to be confused about what she had to choose from the 2 shoes that she had! So we went back shopping and returned back after another 1 hour. She seemed to be indecisive still!
What a tough inky pinky ponky decision from 2 shoes that too one was good and one jing jang (The color was inbetween ananda blue and sky blue). After undergoing the torture we took a breather outside on the couch for 30 mins... Finally she settled for the color between anantha blue sky blue and bought a cap to fill the buffer! I have no idea how could she find a cap in that Milano shoes store.

Anyways, for sure that shop Milan… oops.. no… Its…. MILANO…. Shoes…
It is MILA….NO… Shoes….

Manu also had an idea of opening Mila YES shoes!.. Exclusive for Hi KING!

This perfect caption…. Yes .. you all know is solely accredited to Manu…

Of coz… The patent of this cartoon associated with this also belongs to Manu

Btw... Myself and Manu could not stop laughing at the thought that if we did not make a decision to go along with aditi.. She might have circumambulated MilaNO shoes with Puduma!

Having seen the affinity for the 2 choices, we decided that we will gift her one brown and one blue (One for each feet)!

Momentary Flow

Cloudy, hazy, confusing, illusionary...

... rolling from the edges to overflow in the center.. steadily running down ...

Cloud arising out of the flow.... covering up the clear view..

Heavy .. blurry impressions..

Hoping... a finger to wipe the flow.. support to unwind and blow the cloud away..

The drizzle shall not hit the ground.. Wings will soon unwind to fly away from it..

Joshua Tree!

A nice trip to remember..

Long ride .. Anthakshari chats.. PJ shower that was a bit curtailed with the nature photo shoots..

Long hiking trail.. Singing humming chatting all along the puff pant puff pant!!! phew!!!! .. it was worth reaching the summit!

Me.. As usual started to get inspired by the bold earthtones.. Felt like its more of a dry chalk kind of work to get that on paper.. Tried best.. Not at all happy with the outcome!

But happy about the enthu to attempt and the quick sketching and timely expression is what is important than a 30 hour meticulously detailed art.. Skills that are aquired from the quick sketching helps the latter..

Not to forget ... the bang that had upset the evening a bit.. but thankfully no damage done and still all of us in high spirits knocking Mayura's door at 10pm for the appam!

Blind alleys

Narrow lanes

Other side of the coin.. Working backwards..

If a narrow lane with a blind alley is being taken.. No soul will accompany in it..
